pimp my mac

I finally got my mac pro workstation! It's running 3ds max on win xp. Why a mac? Cause I need 8 cores of processing power =) It might be a overkill and I'm now in debt, but its a good investment if I were to do freelance stuff later on.

And yes I had to pimp it, haha! With my friend's help we're able to get cold cathode lights inside and under the mac. The mac pro is so well designed and so well sealed (for optimized airflow) that installing lights without voiding warranty became a miniature engineering feat.

Special thanks to my friend who helped me set up the system and lent his PC to me for the last 6 months.

And yes, for a special touch, I stuck a Jesus fish on to remind me of my ultimate purpose into 3D. See if you can find it.

A fun little bit I've done for my church using 3DS and Photoshop. Notice the typo in there?

Progress in 3D

First post in 2008, yay!
Yes I have stopped blogging for the last quarter of 2007. I have been focusing most of my energy in my 3d modeling course, so now I would like to share my results with you. Enjoy and please feel free to comment.

Night Cafe
A tribute to Van Gogh. Done in Feb 2008. My own interpretation of his painting Cafe Terrace at Night Done with 3DS Max 9 for modeling, texturing and lighting and Photoshop for background.

Caterham Superlight R400
My first major research and modeling assignment done in 3DS. Lots of reference are sourced from the web. Major reference credits goes to Tamiya for it's world class instruction manual, Caterham UK for reference and links, and Roy Booth's Caterham site for most of the mechanical reference form his build pictures.
