Shameless plug - www.ProjectSource.ca
This is the first shameless plug on my blog. It is my friend's new venture, a magazine for selling project vehicles in the GTA/around Ontario. That means all the vehicles for sale here are definitely not grocery getters or necessary be in running condition. It's for the backyard mechanic guys/gals who's out to look for their next project. I helped in developing some of the layout, like the cover here and also some photoshopping here and there. It's fun, I love working with cars, even if it's on the monitor of my computer or on a sheet of paper.

Mosaic 2
Here's my second attempt at a faux-mosaic. For some reason the upload is inversed .... Anyways, I'm looking to put down Photoshop for a while and focus more on hand drawing for the rest of the Summer. I realised that my hand drawing skill have decreased lately, not that I have much to begin with ... and I realised that I need to have a good hand drawing foundation.

Summer in Toronto
I think Summer in Toronto is really nice. The days are long and the weather is comfortable, espically in the late evening with a nice breeze. Because of the extereme opposite in Winter, I think Canadians cherish their summer more then people in the south do, hence Summers in Toronto are better. Don't get me wrong though. I like Winter too.

The Power of Dreams
Here I am, mixing my old skills with my new. It's been a while since I took photographs. It's certainly is more fun when mixed with Photoshop. It's always been a tradition to take photos of my friends' ride every now and then. And I think they have pretty good tastes in modifying their car/bikes.
There has been a lot of street racing related accidents around Toronto and I think there's a unfair stereotype on modified cars and street racing. I think those who are passionate about their cars are actually better drivers, they know the responsibilities of the road and actually practice their racing skills on sanctioned racing events instead of the highway. And besides, the streets/ highways of Toronto are soo bad that any real driver wouldn't risk damaging their pride and joy running into potholes at high speed ...

So what do you think? Does this photo-mosaic look ok?
I discovered a cheat way to do a photo-mosaic using photoshop:
1. Place all the tiny photographs on using the 'Place ...' function. Use this as the backrgound without any adjustments.
2. Setup 3 layers of the big image using the blend mode 'Overlay', 'Screen', and 'Mulitply' from the top down.
3. Play around with the Opacity setting of each layer to get the desired effect.
So go and try it! Or if you have any other method feel free to share with me!

I'm busy with work. Doing some research for my assignment and something interesting come across when I mix GT4 with Photoshop. So I want to share it with you!
And as my teacher said, adding a filter to a picture is not art. And this is not art, just an interesting picture with a click of a button. Ah.. the wonders of photoshop in the hands of a novice.
